(Penedes, Spain) Entre Vinyes - Oniric Pet Nat 2019
A fresh and exciting sparkling wine from Catalonia. Made with the ancestral (Pet Nat) method, this blend of Xarel-lo and Muscat is just aromatic enough, just textured enough, and is the perfect tipple for a sunny day. It is undisgorged and unfiltered so you should give it a gentle upside shake before opening to dissolve all the goodness, much like a cloudy apple juice.
(Tuscany, Italy) Fattoria di Sammontana - Prunecchio 2019
An exciting blend of Trebbiano, Sauv Blanc, and Malvasia. The Trebbiano Toscano brings a saline and mineral edge, the Sauvignon brings freshness and texture, whilst the pinch of Malvasia adds a gorgeous aromatic lift. A refreshing wine that punches above its weight year after year.
(Mosel, Germany) Staffelter Hof - Little Bastard 2019
A wine that has developed a loyal following and for good reason. It gets its name from the unusual blend of Riesling, Sauv Blanc, Müller Thurgau and Muscat. The result is a mind-opening but joyous wine - it is cloudy, a little fizzy, a little wild, has aromas of flowers and apricot yoghurt, with mouth watering acidity, and a unique zestiness that pervades from start to finish.
(Burgenland, Austria) Joiseph - Piroska 2019
Delicious and juicy blend of Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and Pinot Noir. The 2019 Piroska is as moreish as ever, medium/light in body, with a spicy backbone to complement the vibrant red and black fruits in this blend. Ideally served a little chilled.
(Conca de Barberà, Spain) Lectores Vini - Pomagrana 2019
The ultimate summer red. Made from the Trepat grape, a local variety which is not frequently seen in a single varietal wine due to how little colour and body it gives. Low alcohol, super fresh, energetic and vibrant, and reminiscent of Pomegranate/ cranberry juice. Serve out of the fridge.
(Hlohovec, Slovakia) Slobodne - Cutis Pinoter 2017
A deep coloured Pinot Gris that spent two weeks on its skins and 18 months in steel tanks. One of Slobodne's flagship orange wines, this 2017 vintage is absolutely glorious. Floral, stone fruits but also red fruits, guava, and much more. In a strange way, close your eyes and it's almost as if you are drinking a Pinot Noir.
